A Message from Our 2011-2012 Dayton Heart Ball Co-Chairs
We are truly honored to serve as the co-chairs for the 17th annual Dayton Heart Ball, "Stars of the Heart." We appreciate the opportunity to give back to our community and help the American Heart Association fulfill their mission “to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”
The American Heart Association (AHA) is impacting the Dayton community in ways many of us overlook each day. AHA is present on every athletic field that is equipped with a life-saving automated external defibrillator (AED) protecting our students. AHA is present in every hospital where doctors are able to save countless lives with technology developed from research funded by the AHA. You can see the effect of your donor dollars everywhere.
The Dayton Heart Ball is an event that is vital to the health of our community. It gathers prominent executives, philanthropic and medical industry representatives to help fund the mission of the American Heart Association and to help it reach the 2020 impact goal- to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20% while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20%. The event strives to honor and celebrate the success of the past year and to set the stage for medical advancements, health breakthroughs and community-wide passion in the year ahead.
We could not accomplish the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association without the support of our community. Your participation in the 2012 Dayton Heart Ball will help save lives and empower our community to live healthier. We extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous support.
From Our Hearts,
Mark & Martha Shaker
