Dayton Heart Ball

Leadership

A Message from Our Heart Ball Co-Chairs

Carrell and I are proud and honored to be the chair’s of the 2011 Dayton Heart Ball.  We have a long history of commitment to the American Heart Association.  Heart disease and stroke represent two of the leading causes of death and disability in the United States.  Like many of you, we have been personally affected by the loss of a loved one to heart disease and stroke.  Carrell lost her mother as a result of sudden cardiac arrest and her father to a massive and fatal stroke.

Although we have experienced loss as a result of heart disease and stroke, I have also experienced the joy of saving lives. My entire professional career has been as a pediatric cardiologist helping infants and children with cardiovascular conditions and then watching them grow to be healthy adults.  But the newest and greatest threat to our mission is the epidemic of childhood obesity.

My wife and I are very passionate about our support of the American Heart Association’s mission, but we recognize that success greatly depends on the partners and individuals of the Dayton community who also have a “heart” story.

Partner with us, as there is strength in numbers, and together we can have a positive IMPACT on reducing death and disability from cardiovascular disease and stroke.

 From our “Hearts”
